Thanks to our multi-warehouse network, the customer is always nearby. Because at Active Ants you can store your products all over Europe. This makes your supply routes much shorter. First, this ensures fast shipping and lower transportation costs. And because it requires less kilometres, you also save polluting CO2 emissions in the last mile. In addition, the fleet of Active Ants is 30% electric.

The cardboard for Active Ants packaging is FSC certified. This is a quality mark with strict requirements for sustainable and social forest management. For example, in FSC forests cannot be cut down more wood than is planted. The quality mark also monitors good working conditions and a fair wage for workers in these forests.

Active Ants’ packaging machines pack products quickly and sustainably. We use two types of box packaging machines: the CartonWrap (Nieuwegein only) and the Jivaro (in the other locations).

Depending on the products, these machines provide the ideal tailored box, meaning that no filling material is used and as little air is transported as possible. This means we transport, on average, 40% less air. This also allows us to take more packages into the truck and reduce our CO2 emissions even further.

The CartonWrap puts the shipping label on the lid of the box. The Jivaro prints the shipping label on the lid, eliminating the need for separate label material. In this way, we save paper. In the future, packing slips will also be delivered digitally. In the long run, this will save 16 million paper packing slips and shipping labels per year.

Our fulfilment process has been designed as efficient as possible, like with the Active Ants AutoStore. This is a framework where storage bins are stored horizontally and vertically. Smart warehouse robots move across the grid to pick orders quickly and flawlessly.

This system not only makes storage dust-free and prevents theft, it also saves space. The Active Ants warehouses require up to 6 times less space than a traditional rack warehouse. In addition, our robots are energy-efficient: 10 Warehouse robots use as much energy as 1 vacuum cleaner.

Do you sell or produce organic products? We are a Skal-certified company. This means that we store, process and ship organic products at high speed. By working with us, you therefore also retain your European quality mark.

The Active Ants UK fulfilment center in Northampton is A++ rated and has received, just like our warehouse in Roosendaal, the ‘outstanding’ BREEAM certification. This is the sustainability label for buildings with minimal impact on the earth. Over 50% of its electricity is produced by solar panels, and all of its processes are designed to eliminate waste. On top of this, energy efficient LED lighting is used in all our warehouses.
